QA Engineer - Mobile (m/f/d)

As our QA Engineer – Mobile, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our mobile applications, including “wikifolio,” built with React Native. You will work closely with developers, designers, and product managers to ensure we deliver a seamless and bug-free experience to our users. Your focus will be on testing automation, exploratory testing, and implementing quality processes that are scalable and aligned with agile delivery. You will be expected to ensure quality at every step of the development lifecycle and help build robust, user-focused mobile applications.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the testing strategy for mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms.
  • Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites for functional, regression, and performance testing.
  • Conduct thorough manual and exploratory testing of new features and releases.
  • Collaborate closely with developers and product owners to define acceptance criteria and test plans.
  • Ensure releases meet the highest quality standards before they are shipped to production.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines to integrate automated tests into build workflows (e.g., Azure DevOps, Fastlane).
  • Track and manage defects and issues, helping the team prioritize and resolve them efficiently.
  • Continuously improve test coverage, test effectiveness, and overall product quality.
  • Participate in code reviews and help promote a strong quality mindset within the team.
  • Support mobile device and OS version testing coverage.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a QA Engineer, preferably focused on mobile application testing.
  • Solid experience in testing cross-platform mobile applications built with React Native.
  • Proficiency with mobile testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Maestro, Detox, Appium, React Native Testing Library).
  • Understanding of test automation strategies, including integration into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong knowledge of testing techniques, including exploratory, regression, and performance testing.
  • Familiarity with mobile debugging and profiling tools (e.g., Xcode, Android Studio, Charles Proxy).
  • Experience working with REST APIs and using tools like Postman or similar.
  • Proficiency in writing clear and concise test plans, test cases, and bug reports, using tools like TestRail and Jira; experience with cross-device testing via BrowserStack or similar platforms.
  • Experience working in an agile/scrum environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong English skills, both written and verbal.

It's a plus if you have:

  • Experience with code versioning tools (e.g., Git) and branching workflows.
  • Familiarity with performance and load testing on mobile apps.
  • Knowledge of mobile accessibility standards and best practices.
  • Understanding of mobile security testing approaches.
  • Background or interest in financial technology or trading platforms.
  • ISTQB certification or similar QA credentials.

Technical challenges you will work on:

  • Testing across a wide matrix of devices and OS versions to ensure a consistent experience.
  • Integrating test automation deeply into CI/CD pipelines to support rapid deployment cycles.
  • Supporting the development team in identifying edge cases and user-impacting bugs early.
  • Ensuring high test coverage without sacrificing test speed and maintainability.
  • Balancing manual exploratory testing with scalable automation to maintain high confidence in releases.

The minimum monthly salary for this position is €3,843 gross, in accordance with the IT-collective agreement, however the salary we offer will be adjusted in line with the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience.
